"At the start of 2010 Strathmore Estates decided to develop its sporting potential and extend its range of sport to include roe buck stalking, duck and geese flighting and pigeon shooting in addition to its already prestigious and successful pheasant and partridge shoot. We were aware that we would have to advertise initially to promote these additional sporting opportunities and subsequently we carried out some research of the best places to do this. During our search we came across the SCSTG website. The website was visually very attractive and also very user friendly. There were various sections that the estate could promote their services in, including a special offers section which seemed very effective. After contacting Victoria to discuss our requirements we were delighted with how quick and easy it was to set up and the price! Needless to say you get a lot of service and coverage for very little money. We also liked the fact that we could include photographs and links to our website on our own page on the website as we felt this added more value than just a text listing. In terms of response rates, we have now taken a number of bookings from people that have contacted us through the SCTSG website, not only for our new sport, but also for some driven and walked up partridge and pheasant days. Overall we would recommend to other estates to join (and have done so already) as it has been a very effective tool for us, with excellent results and the added benefit of an efficient service. "

As a sporting estate in the West Highlands of Scotland we are delighted to be part of a portal for the industry and services we provide.

Those who are familiar with country sports in Scotland know who to contact and where to go, but it’s important that we continue to attract new people and generations for the future. The SCSTG provides user friendly information to all levels of country sports enthusiasts and allows us to further promote sporting weeks and offers direct to those who are interested.

Highland Lodges provides a range of bespoke services to guests visiting Scotland, including sporting weeks on private estates. It is important for us to have a presence in this field, and our involvement with the SCSTG provided just that. We are in contact with a number of estates who may offer us weeks or last minute offers – we are now in a position, very quickly through the website portal, to get these offers in front of the people that would be interested. The site includes a wealth of information, but most importantly, I feel it allows all those who are involved in the provision of country sports, the opportunity to work close together in providing the best opportunities to guests from experienced to novice. Increased awareness of ‘how’ and ‘when’ will hopefully bring a rejuvenation to country sports.
