Sea Angling
Scotland’s coastline can offer a diverse range of coastal fishing opportunities from shore or boat, from large skate and shark species to wrasse, pollock and conger eel in the rocks and kelp with large areas of sand offering good flat fish such as plaice and flounder.
Boats can be hired from a number of locations around Scotland with shore fishing being available to everybody at no cost. The Access code should always be adhered to. For more information on sea angling in Scotland visit Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers.
There is no closed season for rod fishing in the sea in Scotland. Check you have permission before trying your luck when fishing around any salmon river system estuary or sea loch.
